These cute Thanksgiving Turkey Painted Rocks make an adorable and easy Thanksgiving craft and art project for kids!
With Thanksgiving next week, we get you don’t have much time on your hand to sit down and craft with the kids. We got you covered with these easy and cute Thanksgiving Turkey Painted Rocks. Have the kids gather rocks and leaves (we used craft ones but you can use real leaves too!) and sit down to make this adorable Thanksgiving rock craft.
You can use them as place holders for the Thanksgiving table too! Wouldn’t it be neat to add the guests’ name on it on the back or front?
Keep these afterwards for a fun paperweight on the table.
What materials do you need to make turkey painted rocks?
You need paint, googly eyes, bits of felt, and leaves. We do have a trick when it comes to painting with kids! Covering a rock with paint can get quite messy if you have little ones. We love using paint sticks like these which glide on really easily and are great for little hands to use! For the face details like the nose and wattle we prefer using fine tip paint markers.
Another trick in getting your paint to dry quickly is to use a blowdryer on the cool setting and go over the rocks for a few minutes. Our painted rocks dried in a breeze so we could get right to the fun of decorating them!
What Thanksgiving rock designs can you make?
We chose to make a pumpkin, Pilgrim and turkey of course! We were inspired by this turkey clip art we purchased on Etsy. Take a look and make sure if you are inspired by clip art to always support the artist and link back to them like we did!
