It’s easy to make a cute seashell fish out of nature items with your kids as the perfect summer craft!
Nature is a wonderful thing to explore and kids love it. There are so many things to see in the world from big to small that there’s always something new for your child to learn about. This easy nature craft will show you how you can make some cute seashell fish out of nature items with your little ones while getting them excited about exploring outside! This beautiful seashell fish activity is the perfect summer craft.
What do you need to make this seashell DIY?
You will need seashells of all different sizes and colors if possible to add variety to your school of fish! If you don’t happen to live seaside and/or are unable to collect seashells, you can find an assortment of seashells online.
The next step is to go forth in nature and gather some fun leaves, foliage and flowers! You can go on a walk and pick up any fallen leaves or head to your backyard and see what’s available!
Then the fun part begins, designing your fish! You’ll want the kids to lay out the nature items on the seashells first. The final step will be to glue the pieces down. We also added a googly eye, but you can easily just draw an eye from a black marker!
Yes, the leaves and foliage will wither over time but the seashells still look cute as fish! Art is about the process anyway 🙂 If you want your fish to last longer, you can buy artificial craft leaves and glue them on.
