This rainbow paper plate craft is a colorful activity you can create with kids to learn all about the weather!

This adorable rainbow paper plate craft is also a fun way to talk about the weather! Have you ever heard the phrase “after the storm look for rainbows?” It’s because rainbows are formed by sunlight from raindrops!
Not only will kids have fun moving the paper sun around the rainbow in this cute paper plate craft, but it’s also a great activity to talk about the science of rainbow formation!
What do I need to make a paper plater rainbow?
Just a few crafty materials are all you need and I bet you already have most of them in your craft cupboard! You’ll need a paper plate of course, pipe cleaners for the rainbow, pom poms for the cloud, paper for the sun, a popsicle stick and some blue paint!

RAINBOW PAPER PLATE CRAFT
Materials
- Paper plate
- Pipe cleaners in rainbow colors

Instructions
Step 1
Paint the paper plate with blue paint.
Step 2
Cut a circle and small stripes out of yellow paper. Glue the stripes on the circle, it will be the sun.
Step 3
Draw the face of the sun than glue it on the popsicle stick.
Step 4
Cut a semicircle under the rim of the plate.
Step 5
Glue the pipe cleaner to the plate in an arch formation in raibnow order below the cut semicircle.
Step 6
Glue 3 white pom poms to the ends of the rainbow.
