These beautiful DIY pressed flower jars capture spring in a jar! These also make lovely and sustainable flower lanterns.

Spring is here and it’s the perfect time to get creative with your little ones. We’re always on the hunt for fun flower crafts for the kids. That’s why I’m excited to share with you these gorgeous DIY pressed flower jars! These were inspired by our recent flower Easter eggs and require almost the same materials except on jars instead of eggs! You can literally apply this technique to almost any surface like jars, wood or paper mache.

What I love about this craft is that it’s sustainable. Gather your old jars and recycle them! They’re also versatile. You can store your favorite treasures in them, make beautiful spring decor, or use them as lanterns for your spring table setting outdoors!

What do you need to make pressed flower jars?

You’ll need clear glass jars, pressed flowers, and Mod Podge. That’s it! You can use any size jars you want. If you have baby glass jars, it would be cool to make little jars. You can do larger sized Mason jars and use those to store more items.

If you want to create lanterns, you’ll also need battery tea lights which we recommend for safety instead of candles.

You can also get fancy and get jars with handles on them to make them look more like real lanterns!

What is Mod Podge?

Mod Podge is a brand of glue used in crafting and DIY projects. It is water-based and can be used to attach paper and fabric to a variety of surfaces, such as wood, glass, and plastic. Mod Podge dries clear and creates a durable, protective layer over the surface it is applied to. It comes in various finishes, such as matte, glossy, and satin, and can also be used as a decoupage medium, a sealer for painted surfaces, or to create a 3D effect by building up multiple layers.
