This adorable Paper Tube Caterpillar Pom Pom Learning Activity is a great craft for teaching your child their colors.
We’re always looking for fun ways to learn all about colors. While it’s great to sit and learn about colors from a book, it’s just as important to use this time to teach your child about colors while crafting as well. And there’s no denying the cuteness of this adorable Paper Tube Caterpillar!
Not only does this caterpillar work on your child’s fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination but it also gives them creativity and confidence, too. This is one craft that they can create and then actually use to show off their color-coordinating skills as well.
If you’re looking for a unique way to help your child learn and remember their colors, this simple Caterpillar Pom Pom Learning Activity is perfect! They’ll love “learning” and playing with their newly completed craft.
What are the colors that are taught in this caterpillar craft?
In the example below, we use the colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t use different colors than that!
The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you need to use colored paper that you can also find colored pom poms to match. This shouldn’t be hard to do but it is important to keep in mind.
How do you use this paper tube craft for learning?
After the kids get done creating their caterpillar, it’s time to fill up the colored tubes with the same colored pom poms. It’s not a hard activity for the kids to do but it is an important one.
This will help them to identify and say the colors and then pair them up with the pom poms to be a match. And once they fill the paper tubes full of colored pom poms, you can easily empty them out and have them start all over again.
How to create a Paper Tube Caterpillar
This isn’t a hard craft to do but supervision will be needed to help out with certain parts. Also, be certain that your toddler knows not to put the pom poms in their mouths.
