We took our Valentine heart garland and turned it into a shamrock twist!
Here’s how you can create your own easy paper shamrock below. Hang it up over a rainbow for extra good luck!
Paper Shamrock Craft – Materials
- Green construction paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Staples or you can use double stick tape or glue dots
- String or yarn (if turning into a garland)
How to make a paper shamrock garland
- We used 8.5″ x 11″ sized paper. Cut strips of green paper into half inch wide strips
- Fold the strips in half then bend the two sides in to make a heart shape and staple or tape the two ends to complete the heart.
- Repeat 2 more times and glue/tape the 3 heart sides together to make a shamrock shape.
- Take another strip of paper and bend the two sides in leaving an inch width in between. This will be your shamrock stem. Point the two ends and cut off the excess paper. Staple shut.
- Glue/tape the stem to the bottom of the 3 hearts to complete your shamrock.
- You can add connect your shamrocks together with tape or glue and then tie two pieces of strings on both shamrock ends to hang up as a garland.
Add some variety to your garland
- Use various shades of green to add visual interest
- If making this craft with young children, pre-cut the strips or score the folds to make the assembly easier for little hands.
- Add some gold glitter for extra luck!
