My 5 year old son loves to draw big scribbles on paper. He also has low confidence in drawing and often says “I just can’t draw!” To change his perspective, I showed him how fun it can be to turn his scribbles into quirky monsters or creatures.
This is a fun and easy drawing prompt for kids with adorable results every time! Check out the video above to see it in action and our favorite art supplies used to make these adorable monster drawings, below.
Scribble Monsters – Materials:
– Large paper (we love these big sheets of watercolor papers that absorb colors well)
– Markers or paint (our go-to favorites are these mess-free paint sticks by Kwik Stix which we also used recently to paint big snowflakes)
Instructions:
It’s pretty simple – just make a large scribble, add features (eyes, cheeks mouth, etc), details like hair and legs. And don’t forget to sign your name!
We love using big pieces of paper to show of the art, and they look awesome up on the wall!
Have we convinced you to make a scribble monster yet? Give it a go with the kids! They will love seeing their scribbles come to life.
