Did you catch my Coffee Bar “She Shed” transformation a couple of weeks back? As I mentioned in that post, my plan is to turn the shed into a fun seasonal themed house for each major holiday. Since Halloween is coming up, we turned it into a super fun spooky cute Halloween Haunted Playhouse Shed for the kids!

With COVID and Halloween up in the air, and some cities cancelling trick or treating, it feels like the right time to invest into making special memories at home. Creating a haunted house right in our backyard felt like a safe option for the kids while still giving them something to look forward to on Halloween.
How to make Halloween fun at home this year.
We invited just a couple of close cousins over and had all the kids dress up. We made Halloween crafts to decorate the shed, read Halloween books and of course had plenty of kid-friendly Halloween snacks and food! Check out the ghoulish party food from spaghetti eyeball meatballs, ghost pizzas, mummy dogs, to spider cupcakes, and ghostly fruit skewers! Get all the recipes here on my food site!
The main highlight was the Halloween egg hunt! We scattered Jack O’ Lantern eggs around the yard and handed out felt treat Halloween bags to collect with fun prizes inside!
We even had a Halloween Projector with ghostly Halloween projections on the outdoor walls and lawn!

And let’s not forget and admire that spooktacular outdoor with the giant spiderweb, skeleton, pumpkins, with wreath and spiders on the wall!
