Creating festive treats for the holidays is my favorite way to bring extra joy to my kids and loved ones. Well..except for crafting cute Christmas crafts of course! What could be more charming than combining classic gingerbread with iconic candy canes? These gingerbread candy cane favors are a fun and easy holiday craft that kids will love.
Plus, they’re super easy to make with our printable template! Simply cut and attach candy canes as the arms and legs. Irresistibly cute and easy, just like our Rudolph lollipops!
Gingerbread Candy Canes – Materials:
- Our printable gingerbread templates (2 designs)
- Candy canes (we used 6-inch ones)
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks
- Scissors
- Cardstock
- Printer
Instructions:
- Print and Cut: Begin by printing out the gingerbread template on cardstock. Cut out the 2 figures along the outline. Print as many as you’d like! Note you’ll need two candy canes per gingerbread.
- Glue the Candy Canes: Join two candy canes together with the hooks facing outwards. Add a dab of hot glue to hold them together. The hooks will be the arms and the long part of the candy canes, the legs.
- Assemble: Lay the glued candy canes down and add your cut out gingerbread on top to align to the “legs” and “arms.” Then add a dab of glue at the top and bottom to join the paper template the candy cane wrapper.
Your adorable gingerbread candy cane favors are done! Ready to hand out and bring cheer!
