How to make an owl egg carton:
Step 1: Prepare Your Egg Carton
Begin by cutting the egg carton so that it is a 2×3 section. If you’re using a 12 egg carton, you can make two owls!
Step 2: Paint the Owl
Using your paintbrush, paint the entire interior of the egg carton with brown paint. Make sure to cover all the surfaces evenly. Set it aside to dry completely. This will be your owl’s body!
Step 3: Add the Beak
Once the brown paint has dried, take your beige paint and use a small brush to paint a triangular beak on the front of the owl (the pointy part of the carton). Let it dry.
Step 4: Attach the Googly Eyes
Once the beak is dry, grab your googly eyes and glue one into each hole in the egg carton above the beak.
Step 5: Glue on the Feathers
To give your owl some personality, glue craft feathers onto the top and sides of the egg carton. We used neutral brown and beige feathers, but feel free to mix and match colors for a vibrant look! The feathers represent the owl’s wings and tufts.
