How to Make Easter Sponge Paintings
Step 1: Cut the Sponges
Start by cutting your sponges into egg shapes. You can do this freehand or use an oval template to trace and cut.
Step 2: Create Patterns with Washi Tape
Use removable tape to section off parts of the sponge to create stripes, zigzags, or other designs. The areas covered by tape will stay paint-free, creating a cool negative space effect when you stamp.
Step 3: Apply Paint
Using a paintbrush, apply different colors of paint to the sponge. Make sure the paint is thick enough to stamp clearly but not too heavy that it drips.
Step 4: Stamp Onto Paper
Press the painted sponge onto your paper, pressing down firmly so the design transfers. Carefully lift the sponge to reveal your beautiful Easter egg print!
Fun Variations
