How to make this Earth Day Craft
-
Print the Template
Start by printing our Earth Day template on white cardstock or watercolor paper which is thicker and will absorb paint better than regular copy paper. -
Paint the Hand
Paint portions of the hand green and blue, and have fun dabbing the color son to make planet earth! -
Make the Handprint
Carefully press the painted hand onto the center of the printable. Press down gently to get a clear imprint, then lift straight up. Let it dry completely before displaying. -
While the paint dries, use this time to talk with your kids about Earth Day. Ask questions like, “What can we do to help take care of the planet?” or “Why is it important to keep our Earth clean?”
Why We Love This Craft:
-
It’s easy and fun for all ages
-
It creates a memory you’ll treasure
-
It encourages kids to think about their role in caring for the planet
Final Thoughts
This handprint craft is more than just a painting—it’s a gentle reminder that the Earth truly is in our hands.
