How to Make a Christmas Handprint Craft
- Print out our printable: We recommend using cardstock to absorb the paint best.
- Paint the Hand: Coat your child’s hand with green paint using the paintbrush. Make sure the paint is not too thick to avoid smudging, but not too thin that the print doesn’t show up well.
- Make the Handprint: Press their hand firmly onto the printable to make the handprint. The fingers will be the branches of your Christmas tree, and the palm will be the tree’s body.
- Add the Decorations: Once the handprint is dry, take a black marker and draw a squiggly line across the fingers to represent the string of Christmas lights.
- Color the Lights: Dip a cotton swab in different colored paints to dot along the black line for a colorful Christmas light effect. Paint markers can also be used or dotting tools with paint.
- Top it Off with a Star: Cut out a star from the glitter gold paper and glue on top of your tree. This will add a sparkly touch to your Christmas tree handprint art.
- Final Touches: If you wish, you can write a sweet message at the bottom with your child’s name and year!
