My 6 year old son Kian recently started a fun YouTube train channel for kids all about his love of trains! You can see all his videos on his channel, Kian’s World of Trains. I’ll be sharing some of the fun process art and train activities on here as well.
He recently did one of his favoritie projects – painting with trains! This is a fantastic process art project that can be completely child-led. All you need are a few supplies to get started. Watch the fun video above and get your materials ready to paint with trains!
Painting with Trains – Materials:
– Blank Canvas
– Trains
– Washable Tempera Paint
– Large butcher paper to cover any drips
Instructions:
Add your canvas on top of your butcher paper. Gather your trains and paints. My son chose to paint by colors – so he matched up his colored trains with the same color paint. You can do it anyway you like!
Add drops of paint on the canvas and then make tracks with your trains!
Let your child explore the paints, colors, movement of the trains, seeing what kind of patterns they make. This was such a fun process art project for my son!
Have you ever painted with trains?
If you have a train love, make sure to check out and subscribe to Kian’s World of Trains!
