Here’s a simple paper origami star project you can make with the kids as a easy art project. Both my 3 and 5 year old enjoyed painting colorful designs on origami paper and turning them into pretty star ornaments to hang up.
Painted Origami Paper Star Ornaments – Materials:
– white origami paper
– paint and paint brushes
– twine or string
– hole punch
Instructions:
Step 1. Have kids paint different patterns and designs on the origami paper.
Step 2. Fold the paper into origami stars. There are lots of ways to fold stars but we used this easy step-by-step video from Howcast which was simple enough for my 5 year old to follow along (with practice).
Step 3. Add a hole at the top with a hole punch and string a piece of twine or string. Now you have pretty paper star ornaments to hang up showcasing your kids’ art.
These came out so pretty and I love all the vibrant colors and designs the kids made.
We hung them up on a little wooden tree we have to show them off.
