What kid (big and small) doesn’t like sparkly and shiny things? Make this simple gold dipped “hello” tote with just a few simple items. Your kids will have fun painting on a blank canvas and best of all they’ll get a custom tote in a hour or two. I found that painting the gold was a bit easier than spray painting and less messy too!
DIY Gold Dipped “Hello” Tote Bag – Materials:
- Fabric paint (Tulip Soft Matte used here)
- Paint brush
- Printable Cardstock Sticker Paper 8.5” by 11”
- Masking Tape
- Exacto Blade
- Blank Canvas Bag
Measure and tape straight across the tote from front to back.
To make the painting easier, flip the tote upside down and use a stand to hold the bag. I used a candle holder here as my stand.
While the paint is drying, print out your text and use the exacto blade to cut out the letters.
Stick the stencil on to the bag and then paint in the text. If you’re using a thin canvas, make sure to insert a cardboard barrier in the bag to catch the ink in case of bleeding. I used a thick heavy weight canvas so the ink didn’t bleed – but test your fabric just to be safe!
Dry and you’re done! Enjoy your very own custom gold dipped hello tote.
This is such a cute bag for both kids and adults to enjoy! Check out more DIY bag ideas here, here and here.
