DIY LIBRARY BOOK BAG FOR KIDS FEATURING THEIR FAVORITE BOOK COVER

Summer is finally here and we’re excited for lots of outdoor play and…library days! Don’t let the time off from school impact your child’s reading. Summer’s a great time to come up with a reading list and dust off those library cards. One way to get kids excited about reading is to have them design their own book bag. A fun idea is to have them choose their favorite book cover illustration as inspiration!

*This idea originally appeared on our Instagram page as part of a sponsored post between Sharpies and Michael’s Craft Stores.

DIY Library Book Bag – Materials:

– Blank canvas bag

Sharpie Paint Markers

– Your favorite book illustration

Instructions:

It’s pretty simple, just have kids draw right on the blank tote using their favorite book cover as inspiration! One of our favorite books is The Day The Crayons Quit so that’s the one we chose. You can first draw in pencil and go over with the paint markers if you’d like. The paint markers glide on great without smearing on canvas.

When you’re done, head to the library and fill it up with books to get kids excited about reading this summer!
